A pool is structural work, not a finish. The shell has to carry the water, the ground has to be right, and on an apartment terrace the slab has to be checked before anything is designed — which is why a terrace pool costs substantially more per square metre than the same pool at ground level.

Everything after the shell is plant, finish and detail: filtration, heating, lighting, the coping and the surround. Those are the parts people compare between quotes, and they are also where two quotes for the same pool stop being comparable.

Pools are priced per square metre of pool, and a terrace pool on an apartment costs meaningfully more than the same pool at ground level — access and structural loading, not finish. The calculator uses €1,440 to €5,400 per m² of pool for a villa depending on the finish tier — the same figures it uses for a whole-project budget, because there is only one rate card.
